Continuando con los proyectos de bodas, esta vez les enseño como hacer un velo de boda, fue Daisy una de mis seguidoras quien me pidió realizar este DIY.
Decidí hacer un velo que es de los cortos que va en frente de la cara, el nombre en Inglés es birdcage, pero no tiene traducción al Español. Este tipo de velo es el que me gusta más, porque es un estilo vintage. Previamente a este tutorial tienen que ver el video de cómo hacer las flores de tela (AQUÍ) porque vamos a usar una flor para este tutorial, si tu lo deseas también puedes comprar otro tipo de decoración para el velo.
En lo que se refiere a donde comprar la malla Francesa o Rusa, pueden buscarla en su tienda de telas, yo la compre online en Etsy el vendedor es JersyBride (LINK) , esta fue mi primera vez comprando tela de Etsy y me experiencia fue muy buena, el costo de la tela fue incluyendo envió como $5, el ancho que escoja fue 23cm de ancho y largo 92cm. La cantidad de tela será suficiente para un velo. Este tipo de maya se vende en 2 anchos uno de 23cm es excelente si tienen pensado hacer un velo que cubra la mitad de su rostro y otro de 46 cm es genial si quieren un velo que le cubra toda la cara.
Acuérdense que también necesitaran una pedazo de tule regular para preparar la peineta, yo use un pedazo de tulle que tenia en casa, no era el regular, pero fue uno que compre por error pero me sirvió para preparar la peineta. Continuing with wedding DIYs, this time I’m going to teach you how to make a birdcage veil. Daisy, one of my followers, was the one that suggested I make a bridal veil DIY and I decided to make this kind because I love the vintage. Before you start this project you’ll need to know how to make fabric flowers, watch my tutorial (LINK).
You are going to use one fabric flower for the veil, though you could also use any other decoration of your choice, it really up to you and what you want to do. Try to find French or Russian netting at your local fabric store; it’s always better to shop locally. Sadly, in my case, I wasn’t able to find what I needed so I got my netting at Etsy. The seller is “Jersey Bride” (LINK) and this was my first time buying fabric from Etsy and I’d have to say my experience was very good. I purchased netting of 9” (23cm) x 36” (92cm) and the total cost of the fabric was around $5 which included shipping. You can get this netting in two widths one at 9” (23cm) and the other at 18” (46cm). The smaller size is want you’ll want to make a half coverage veil. If you want to make a full coverage veil you’ll want to purchase the larger size. No matter the size you choose, the amount of fabric the send you will be enough to make one veil. Remember that you’ll also need a piece of regular tulle, which is used to prepare the comb.
