DIY Wedding Wreath | Corona de Bodas

This wedding wreath turned out better than I expected. This is a really easy DIY it’s absolutely lovely and will look amazing in weddings, parties, and even home décor.
Through the process of trial and error, I’ve discovered a few things that you should know before you start. I got a ¼” x 50ft rope at the hardware store which I thought was going enough to cover the entire hula-hoop with some left to do another project later. Sadly I was wrong. 50 feet of rope only covered half of the 28” hula-hoop. This was largely due to the thickness of the rope, which I ended up unraveling to get the length I needed.  So I’ll recommend getting a thinner rope or get ready to do some unraveling, which is super time-consuming. While it may be kind of silly to say, you should also be aware that the bigger the hula-hoop the more time you’re going to spend wrapping it. As I mentioned before, the wreath I made was 28”, which took me quite a while to wrap. While it was a bit of work, I think this is the perfect size for just about every application.

As I mention in the video I used artificial flowers but you could also use real plants if you prefer. Keep in mind that real plants are more expensive (typically I like to keep my project budget friendly) and may need additional care when attaching them to the wreath. You also use some paper flowers like these ones.

If you want the wreath to POP I totally recommend getting a set of Qedertek fairy lights, they work great. I was very pleased with the couple lights the company sent me to try out and I think they go perfectly with this project. I’m going to put the solar lights in my backyard really soon so stay tuned for that post soon.

Esta corona de boda resultó mejor de lo que esperaba. Este es un DIY muy fácil y es absolutamente encantador, se verá increíble en bodas, fiestas e incluso como decoración del hogar. De los errores se aprende y aquí les digo los míos así no los repiten. Compre una cuerda de ¼ “x 15 metros en la ferretería que pensé que iba lo suficiente para cubrir todo el hula-hula con algunos y que todavía me iba a sobrar para hacer otro proyecto más tarde. Lamentablemente me equivoqué 15 metros de cuerda sólo cubrió la mitad de los 70cm de diámetro del Hula-hula. Esto se debió en gran medida al grosor de la cuerda, al final me toco desenredar la cuerda para obtener la longitud que necesitaba. Por lo cual les recomiendo comprar una cuerda delgada o prepárate para hacer algo de desenredar la cuerda como yo lo hice, pero ten en cuenta que toma tiempo. También ten en mente que mas grande el hula –hula mas tiempo te vas a demorar enrollando la cuerda.

Como menciono en el video yo usé flores artificiales pero también puedes usar plantas reales si lo prefieres. Tenga en cuenta que las plantas reales son más caras (por lo general me gusta mantener mis proyecto con un presupuesto amigable) También puedes usar algunas flores de papel como estas.

Si quieres la corona a resalte te recomiendo totalmente comprar un set de luces de Qedertek, que funcionan muy bien. Yo estoy muy contenta con las luces que la compañía me envió para probar y creo que van perfectamente con este proyecto.
