I feel like I’ve nailed it, after more than 3 months of work I’m finally done! This new set of giant paper flowers looks aaaa..mazing!
I know what you must be thinking, three months making paper flowers?! Really?! Well, it takes me a long time to put together a listing for my Etsy shop, (mainly because I’m crazy perfectionist) but also because it takes time to create a prototype that I absolutely love as I only choose the patterns that work properly and are the easiest to assemble. In order for me to decide this, I have to test and assemble each pattern to ensure it’s going to be a practical DIY project. I always strive to make my work relatable for everyone and most importantly within everybody’s level of craftiness. From beginners to those pros out there! Once I know I achieved these goals, my biggest challenge was to create a way for my standing, giant, paper flowers to look a little more realistic using materials that are not only easy to find, but also not crazy expensive! #MissionAccomplished! My architecture degree came handy after all 🙂
Once I’m happy with the flowers design, assembly and materials, I go into recording mode. As I’m filming my tutorials, I make several takes all the while adjusting and editing as I discover better ways to do things! This means I record each video sometimes 2 or 3 times. Keep in mind that I’m the videographer, editor, cameramen, light technician, photographer, model etc. lol.
At the end, I’m so very proud of how these tutorials came together; in my opinion this is my master set and some of my best work yet. These tutorials include almost 1 hour of video all together showing you how to make the paper flowers and how to make two different stands for my freestanding flowers.
As I’ve said before, you don’t need to be Miss or Mister Crafty pants to make any of my giant paper flowers. All you need is a good pair of scissors, some glue and the ability to follow the tutorials. With the release of this collection I simply cannot wait to see pictures from your gatherings using these new flowers as it makes me so incredibly happy to see your personal twist when using my patterns. So this being said, I now hope you understand and agree that I can’t give my work away for free but if you love my flower designs as much as I do, especially the new Vienna and Andalucía patterns, then I’m sure you won’t mind the small fee I’m charging for the collection.
Logre mi propósito, después de más de 3 meses de trabajo por fin termine este nuevo set de flores. Este nuevo set de flores de papel gigantes se ve MaravillosooOO! Sé lo que estás pensando, tres meses haciendo flores de papel ?! ¡¿De Verdad?! La verdad es que me toma bastante tiempo crear un nuevo set para mi tienda Etsy, (sobre todo porque soy una loca perfeccionista). Cada vez que creo una colección la tengo que poner a prueba hacer varios prototipos. Cuando creó nuevos diseños siempre pienso que tienen que ser flores fáciles de hacer y a su vez duraderas. Mi trabajo creando una colección comienza por desordenar mi estudio, veras papeles y pétalos por todos lados, además que una gran cantidad de prototipos. Una de mis mayores retos con esta nueva colección era encontrar una técnica para construir las flores con tallo y hacerlo con materiales que sean fáciles de conseguir y no muy costosos. Al final de todo completé mi meta y quien diría pero hice uso de mis conocimientos arquitectónicos.
La construcción de las flores es solamente la primera parte, una vez que estoy satisfecho con el diseño comienzo con la grabación. Cuando estoy filmando hago varias tomas al mismo tiempo que voy ajustando cosas a medida que las descubro. Recuerden que yo soy el camarógrafo, editor, técnico de luces, fotógrafo, modelo, etc. Cuando ya estaba por terminar los videos de esta colección descubrí una mejor técnica de hacer las flores de una manera mas eficiente, así que volví a grabar los videos, esta vez mostrándote la nueva técnica. Estoy muy orgullosa de cómo quedaron los tutoriales. En mi opinión esta es una clase maestra y estos diseños están entre mis favoritos. Este set incluye casi una hora de videos sobre cómo hacer flores de papel, uno de los videos muestra cómo realizar dos tipos de soportes en caso de que quieras que mas flores se paren por si mismas.
Como lo he dicho antes, no es necesario buenísima haciendo manualidades para que tengas buenos resultado cuando construyas mis flores. Todo lo que necesita es un buen par de tijeras, un poco de pegamento y seguir los video tutoriales. Con el lanzamiento de esta colección simplemente no puedo esperar a ver las fotos de sus decoraciones donde usan mis moldes. Me hace muy feliz ver su toque personal que le dan a mis DIYs . Como se puede imaginar, no puedo dar mi trabajo de forma gratuita, pero si te gusta mis nuevos diseños de flores tanto como lo hago, entonces estoy segura entiende en costo de mi set de flores.

Why are assembled paper flowers so expensive?
The main reason is because they are time consuming to make and time is money. I know what are you thinking, but they are made of paper!?!? Yes, they are, but someone has to put them together to create a beautiful flowers using paper it takes a lot of time. It’s not about the material; it’s all about time.
Why should I buy your DIY set?
The DIY set makes building beautiful backdrops easy and you’re going to save a LOT of money. Making the flowers yourself means you do it on your time and as previously mentioned time is generally money. The DIY also gives the ability to build as many flowers as you want in any color you want to use, using different patterns and putting them together as you want. When I designed my flowers I took into consideration a lot of things and because of my architectural background I spent a lot of time on the construction of the products. These patterns have been designed to last and if you use good quality materials they will last long after the event they were built for. Another thing is these patterns are easy to build, you don’t need to be Martha Stewart clone to make these flowers; the only abilities you need it’s to be able to cut and glue. The DIY set also includes the video tutorials that shows you step by step on how to make it, which is pretty much a workshop class. After watching them, you’ll be able to take the patterns you’ve ordered and make any kind of paper flower you want. The best part of all, you don’t need to pay for shipping; the pattern file is a digital download and is available instantly. Generally I feel bad telling my clients how expensive shipping is and the cost of assembling flower backdrops so I feel a downloadable pattern is the best way to go.
Why should I buy your patterns when I can get other ones free online?
One of the main reasons is that my paper flower patterns are proven to come together very nicely and are easy to assemble. When downloading free patterns online, you run a big risk of downloading malware that may harm your computer. I honestly believe my prices are very affordable and can fit within any budget.
Do you recommend using a cutting machine?
No, you don’t need a cutting machine; a good pair of scissors is the only thing you need. Don’t get me wrong I love my Cricut machine, but I don’t use it to cut the petals for my flowers, mainly because its takes longer to use the machine than it does to simply cut them by hand. When I’m cutting petals, I cut 3 pieces of paper together at the same time making 3 petals with one cut.

Cuando lo hago a mano puedo cortar 3 pétalos o 4 en un solo corte.
