Did you know you can etch glass with a cutting machine?
I’ve been using a cutting machine for a while now but I’m still learning new things I can do with it. One of my new learnings brought me to the process of etching glass, which uses materials crafted with a cutting machine. In this video, I’m going to use Silhouette Glass Etching Started kit and illustrating the process of glass-etching, providing tips and tricks I learned along the way, and cover some of the mistakes I made. The starter kit makes hitting the ground running easy but the technique takes a bit to get perfect.
As you’ll see in the video, this was my first time using an etching cream and I learned more than a couple things. It’s my hope that this video gets you excited about yet another way to use your cutting machine while also getting you one step ahead of the game when it comes time for you to etch some glass. I want to thanks Silhouette for sending me this product to try out. I had a lot of fun making this project and I’ll be taking what I’ve discovered into new projects in the future, so stay tuned.

¿Sabía que puede grabar vidrio con una máquina de corte?
Llevo usando mi máquina de corte por un tiempo, pero cada dia aprendiendo cosas nuevas que puedo hacer con ella. Una de las nuevas cosas que aprendí es como grabar en vidrio. En este video, voy a utilizar el kit de Iniciación de grabado en cristal de Silhouette. En este les doy consejos y trucos que aprendí en el camino, y cubriré algunos de los errores que cometí. El kit de inicio te brinda todos los materiales necesarios, pero la técnica toma tiempo en perfeccionarla, es muy probable que su primer intento no quede perfecto. Como verá en el video, esta fue la primera vez que use una crema de grabado y aprendí más de un par de cosas.
Espero que este video te anime a utilizar tu máquina de cortado en otro tipo de proyecto. Quiero agradecer a Silhouette por enviarme este producto para probarlo. Me divertí mucho haciendo este proyecto y estaré usando todo lo que aprendí en nuevos proyectos.
