Trader Joe’s Easiest Fish Tacos

April 19, 2014 Comments : 2

Since moving to the USA I’ve fallen in love of Mexican food, it’s just so yummy. Before my move I’d never eaten tortillas but now I simply can’t stop eating them. There’re tons of delicious Mexican dishes, some better than others and some I prefer not to cook because they are just overly complicated. One of the dishes I do quite frequently is Fish Tacos.

I’m no expert at choosing the best fish for tacos or if the fish I’ve chosen is necessarily fresh so in the past I’ve stayed away from making home made fish tacos however that all changed when I discovered Trader Joe Panko Tilapia. This is the best pre made Tilapia I’ve found and it works amazingly well in Fish Tacos. Armed with my love for all things Trader Joes and my discovery of this breaded goodness I’ve decided to share this really easy recipe; I know you’ll love it.

Preparation / Preparacion

Prepare the tilapias as in indicate on the box. I like to give it an extra 5 minutes or so because I like it to get really crunchy.

While the fish is cooking prepare the Cole slaw or broccoli slaw. This is super simple, just add the quantity of mayonnaise or Greek yogurt that you’d like, a splash of lime, and finally salt and pepper. You should know that this simply slaw filing can be tweaked to your liking. For example, my husband doesn’t like mayonnaise, so he prefers his slaw with Greek yogurt.

I like to make my Pico de Gallo, but you can also purchase Trader Joes Pico de Gallo Salsa. If you are like me and want to make your own Pico de Gallo Simply chop and mix all the ingredients in the list, place in a bowl and top with a add a squeeze of lime.

When the fish is ready cut the fillets into stripes and start assembling your tacos and finish them with a splash of Trader Joes Chili Pepper Sauce or Valentina.

Panko Tilapia

Enjoy 🙂 I hope you like this simple yet really yummy recipe.
